Plēb Urban Winery
We produce small batch, craft, low intervention and natural wines using locally sourced grapes from Western North Carolina. The plebeian community of Roman times represented the middle class, the economic backbone of society and was comprised of farmers, bakers, artisans, and artists. Established in 2018, we do not sit on a vineyard but rather harvest grapes from multiple local farms to produce our wines. From the vineyard to the taproom, we employ sustainable practices such as not adding sulfites and serving from stainless-steel kegs. We provide packaged wine in cans, growlers and kegs to reduce our environmental footprint. Our winery sits at the south entrance to the River Arts District. We open our doors to anyone who wants to experience local wine, art and community.
