Welcome to Darnell Farms - a true agritourism experience - located in a beautiful mountain valley on the Tuckasegee River in Bryson City! We're an active, second-generation family farm with an open-air local produce store that is open every day. The farm produces nearly 100 acres of strawberries, onions, tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers and irresistible blackberries.
Pick-your-own strawberries in May and June. Beginning Labor Day weekend, explore a corn maze, enjoy hayrides and pick your own pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch. Yearly festivals include Strawberry Jam Bluegrass Fest in May, and the Plow Day and Harvest Festival on the last Saturday in October with old-time farming demonstrations and plenty of bluegrass and crafts. We offer educational tours year-round about farm life, farming methods and the history of the land we are farming, which has ties to the Cherokees.
