North Carolina Botanical Garden
One of the largest native plant botanical gardens in the Southeast. Free admission. The display gardens feature plants that occur naturally in the region, herbs, native habitats, the most diverse carnivorous plant collection in the southeastern United States, children’s wonder garden, nature trails, the 2024 Fall Sculpture in the Garden (September 15 - December 8) juried art exhibition of works by North Carolina artists, nature art (indoor gallery), plant sales and gift shop. LEED Platinum sustainable, green education center with exhibits, reference library, auditorium and classrooms. The Garden’s paved visitor parking lot is closed and locked after hours. Nature trails, Coker Arboretum and Battle Park trails are available from dawn to dusk.
