Shelton House Museum of North Carolina Handicrafts
The Shelton House was built in 1875 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Housed in and around the Shelton House, the Museum of North Carolina Handicrafts features comprehensive exhibits of 19th century crafts including hand-woven coverlets, quilts, sculptured porcelain, dulcimers, masterpieces of pottery work and furniture and a fine collection of southeastern and southwestern Native American artifacts. The property consists of 4 acres that contain the house, the barn and a number of beautiful gardens. Tours on the hour 10 am – 2 pm.
