Greensboro History Museum
This Smithsonian Affiliate museum shares Greensboro's compelling history through diverse collections, engaging exhibits, educational programs, and community dialogue. 17,000 square feet of award-winning exhibitions, many with hands-on interactives, highlight stories from pre-colonial cultures to today’s Gate City. Discover Greensboro’s part in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, and its connection to U.S. history through transportation, textiles, education, civil rights and much more. From face masks to S. Elm Street storefront murals demanding racial justice, 2020 has seen amazing expressions across Gate City. Pieces of Now is award-winning displaying objects, including nearly 20 pieces of street art created as part of the summer’s Black Lives Matter protests. Free admission, but donations are accepted.
