We offer a wide assortment of boat rentals & other services; dock & storage rates, marina services and repair. Santeetlah is surrounded by the Cheoah District of the Nantahala National Forest. While the lake surface/land below the high water level is owned & managed by Brookfield Renewable Power, almost 80% of the shoreline is public land managed by the Forest Service. The property has an interesting history dating back to the early 1960′s with the development of Thunderbird Mountain
The lake has a wide variety of fish; small & large-mouth bass, walleye, crappie, bream & lake trout. Until recently Lake Santeetlah was home to the state record large-mouth and walleye. Fishing licenses are required & can be purchased at the marina or online. More than 50 primitive campsites are scattered around the shoreline. These sites have limited- to no- facilities, best of all no fee or permit!
