Daniel Boone Heritage Trail - Davie County
Daniel Boone bought a tract of land along Bear Creek in 1759 from his father, Squire Boone, who had purchased it in 1753. He lived in North Carolina for 21 years. From 1752 to 1773, he hunted, fished, farmed, forted for protection, married, and reared his children in the Forks of the Yadkin and along the banks of the Yadkin River. Communities across Northwest North Carolina have dutifully commemorated his life at places that still today spark a remembrance of those frontier days before the American Revolution.
