Table Rock
Table Rock, called “Attocoa” by the Cherokee Indians, was their mystic altar for sacred ceremonies. Known as Burke County’s natural landmark, Table Rock towers at 3950 feet above sea level. The views overlooking the Gorge are spectacular and worth the travel to see. The Linville Gorge is called "the Grand Canyon of the East" for its magnificent plummet to the Linville River below the rim mountains.
