Education and fun all in one place! Explore the wonders of the world captured digitally in our daily programs. Come aboard as we explore space, learn about the planets, stars, and why scientists are studying them and how it impacts us today. Discover a range of habitats that make up our world, while interacting with real objects. See the exhibits and a NC Coastal "living marsh" with a touch tank of a variety of Atlantic Ocean sea creatures, including fish, spider crabs, hermit crabs, sea urchins and more. Walk through more than 10 galleries. The Arts Center consists of more than 500 works by artists, primarily from North Carolina and the southeast. The collection includes key regional artists such as Frances Speight, Sarah Blakeslee, Ben Owen, Sr., Mark Hewitt, Cynthia Bringle, Billie Ruth Sudduth, Hobson Pittman and Louis Orr.
