Holly Shelter Game Land

Holly Shelter Game Land consists of 75,120 acres of forest featuring native coastal wildlife and ecosystems. Featured on the NC Mountains to Sea Trail. Walking and Hiking are allowed year round but the gates are open sporadically depending on local state wildlife representatives. Gates stay open during the hunting season and regulations vary. Vehicles are allowed to drive the designated roads during hunting season and if they gates are open but be aware of time constraints. Primitive camping is allowed in designated areas only. The NC Wildlife Resources Commission may close the gates as they see fit depending on conditions or maintenance.
