Toe River Arts Gallery Upper Street
The Toe River Art has a gallery, gift shop, and Arts Resource Center that is used for special functions, performances, and concerts. The gallery has a large exhibit area of almost 1500 sq. ft. where artists are showcased monthly. Receptions during each exhibit offer the public an opportunity to meet and talk with the artists. Once a year, TRAC highlights the work of students in the county, and in April, an annual Black Smith exhibition is mounted to coincide with Spruce Pine's Fire on the Mountain Festival. The gallery gift shops feature work from over 100 artists in a variety of media: clay, glass, jewelry, painting, photography, fiber, wood, sculpture, mixed media, and more. All of the work is from TRAC members residing in Mitchell, Yancey, and now Avery counties. The Spruce Pine Toe River Arts Gallery is conveniently located in the downtown area.
