Enjoy a variety of incredible performances at the historic Appalachian Theatre of the High Country in downtown Boone.

The historic Appalachian Theatre of the High Country has been located on King Street in the heart of downtown Boone since it was built in 1938. The theatre operated for 70 years, before finally closing its doors in 2007, only to be completely renovated and reopened over a decade later. The theatre has hosted dozens of incredible acts including bluegrass legends Doc Watson, Lester Flatt, and Earl Scruggs, and Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys.

Stroll back in time when you enter the iconic art-deco style theatre, restored to its original grandeur. Learn about the colorful past of the Theatre through the murals and historical exhibits on display there. Now that the theatre's doors are wide open once again, they've got a schedule jam-packed with musical acts, feature films, documentaries, theatrical performances, and more!
