Join us at Alamance Battleground to explore North Carolina's German communities' traditions, foodways, and culture as we celebrate the Christmas holiday with our special event, “German Christmas in Colonial Carolina.” By the 1770s, the backcountry of North Carolina was home to several German communities that had migrated from their original settlements in Pennsylvania. These settlers brought their traditions and culture, which continue to influence our region today
