Rowan Museum
Step back in time at the Rowan Museum. Located in the 1854 Courthouse you’ll find replicas, artifacts and memorabilia of years past. The courthouse itself survived General Stoneman’s raid in the Civil War. It is one of the finest examples of pre-Civil War architecture in the state. The life and history of Rowan County is reflected through displays and interpretive exhibits. You'll be able to learn all about the expansive history of Rowan County through a gold mine replica, African American history exhibit, pictures of days past and much more. Group tours and presentations are available.
