Lejeune Memorial Gardens
The Beirut Memorial is a solemn tribute to 273 Marines who gave the last full measure of devotion in Lebanon and Grenada on October 23, 1983. The names of each man are engraved in granite along with the words “They Came In Peace.”
The 9/11 Memorial includes a beam from the Twin Towers, presented to the first troops to those who invaded Iraq from the police and firefighters of New York.
The Vietnam Memorial is one of the largest Vietnam Memorials in the nation and one of the only few that list all the names of the fallen. The glass walls that encompass the central fountain are inscribed with the names of the 58,229 men and women who lost their lives in the Vietnam War.
The Montford Point Marine Memorial honors the first African-Americans admitted to the Marine Corps during World War II.
